The table. It’s the place where food is served and breaking bread can happen in community. The table is the place where bonds are built, love & laughter happen, ideas are deliberated, lessons are shared, burdens are laid down, and stories are heard. The table is a place for personal challenge and spiritual growth. In the scriptures, the table is a place where Jesus brought people into deeper relationship with Himself, and deeper awareness of His truth. Few acts are more expressive of companionship than the shared meal… When Jesus came to seek and save the lost, he came to eat and drink with sinners. From notorious tax collectors to the marginalized and broken, those who gathered at the table with Jesus found hope, forgiveness, and a new purpose.
