MISSION

Loving & leading people to a life-changing connection with Christ!

VISION: GROW|FLOW|SOW

We are growing strong disciples; we are flowing in the Spirit, and we are sowing into our community - and into the world. We are reaching as many people as possible in the Temecula Valley for salvation, discipleship, and the supernatural lifestyle - and connecting them in the life of Centerpoint Church so that all will be filled with hope, changed by God, strengthened in community, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and commissioned to live the Kingdom life that will change the world!

The discipleship pathway for a centered life

When you center your life in Jesus Christ, you grow. The invitation of Jesus is: “Come follow me”. He uses the word ‘disciple’ to describe His followers. A disciple is someone who is learning and growing. Jesus gave a pattern for life as a disciple, both in what He taught and modeled, and in what He called for by the Holy Spirit throughout the entire New Testament. Discipleship is the ongoing process of following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and growing in commitment to the mission of Jesus and His Church!

The context for discipleship is the Church - the local congregation where disciples can fully engage in the Kingdom life the Bible describes. The full experience of engagement in the Church Body creates a discipleship pathway that develops, empowers, and fosters the growth of disciples of Jesus Christ. Our Centerpoint discipleship pathway is the path to a centered life. We frame our discipleship pathway around four key components. Worship|Connect|Serve|Influence - All four components together catalyze growth as a disciple.

When a disciple of Jesus engages fully in all four categories, they will experience more fully the centered life God wants for them. We symbolize the four areas with arrows - because arrows compel action and direction. All discipleship calls for action, and Jesus-directed direction.

Our goal is that every Centerpoint Church member would engage fully in this pathway - and engage in all four elements. By doing so, they will grow in their discipleship, and God’s Kingdom will grow as well!

FREE METHODIST CHURCH

Centerpoint Church is part of a larger ministry family called the Free Methodist Church. The FMC is an evangelical Christian denomination with roots in the Wesleyan movement. Centerpoint Church is part of the Free Methodist Church of Southern California, the local regional conference of the FMC.

The Free Methodist Church is not the United Methodist Church. There is strength in the story – and our story is that the FMC was birthed out of a belief in and vision for freedom during a time (the 1860’s) when that had to be fought for. We’re still passionate about freedom. Being part of a larger ministry family means that there is accountability and structure that makes us stronger.

We believe that the Christian faith offers people the opportunity to be saved and spiritually reborn. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to embrace the grace-gift of salvation, and then to engage more deeply in their process of sanctification and Spirit-filling in a church community, so they can live a centered life, with hope and victory!

We believe:

  1. The Holy Bible is the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  2. There is one God, eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. Because of the Fall, all people have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and need to be saved.
  4. God made salvation possible for all people through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who always was, is and always will be God.
  5. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works.
  6. The Holy Spirit indwells all believers to give spiritual life and strength to overcome the schemes of the Devil, to guide personal development and spiritual growth, to empower godly living, and to activate spiritual gifts.
  7. The Church - the Body of Christ - in its local expression in a congregation, is the means by which God advances God’s Kingdom, and it is the context in which believers are designed to belong and grow to experience and expand God’s Kingdom.
  8. The church exists both to advance God’s Kingdom in the world and to foster an environment where disciples can worship, connect, grow, serve, and participate in advancing God’s Kingdom.

The statement above is an abridged expression of our theology. We are part of the Free Methodist Church USA - and we hold to the tenets of the FMCUSA Statement of Faith.
