I. Read Ephesians 5:1–2 & John 13:34–35

  1. In what specific ways has Jesus loved you personally? Be specific.
  2. Why does Jesus make love the defining mark of His disciples? What would change in our church or community if we truly loved this way?

II. Read Romans 12:9–13

  1. How is genuine love described? What does that reveal about God’s heart?

  1. Have you ever experienced “fake love?” What effect did it have on you? What does genuine love look like instead?
  2. Is there anything blocking you from hating what is wrong and clinging to what is good in your relationships?

  1. What stands out to you about how love requires enthusiasm, patience, prayer, and hospitality? Where is God stretching you right now?
