Jesus washes the disciples’ feet at the table where a dinner happened which we call ‘the Last Supper’, Jesus shared his vision for the way His people would engage with each other and with the world around them. Jesus showed that what he desires in his followers is humility, willingness, availability, can-do spirit, and a heart to serve!

Jesus is thought of as a ‘religious figure’, but he actually spent a good deal of time demoting empty religiosity - and promoting real spiritual life. In our journey of sanctification, there will always be tension between a true desire for holiness, and a superficial sanctimonious pretense. This message will call us to confront that fake veneer and the spirit of religion - and make our table a place for authentic encounter.
