Take It In

What does this reveal about who God is?

I. Read Psalm 139:7–12

  1. As you read this section, what stands out to you about how God’s presence is described?
  2. David names both the highest places and the lowest places, even places of darkness. Which part of that range feels most personal or significant to you right now?
  3. Re-read verses 9–10. What does this reveal about how God responds to where you are, not just where you think you should be?

Talk About It

How do we practically apply this?

  1. Do you tend to think of God’s presence as something you have to chase, or something that is already with you? Why?
  2. Where in your life right now do you feel most aware of God’s presence? Where do you feel least aware?
  3. Re-read verse 8. Have you ever found yourself in a place that felt “low” or even self-made? What did it look like to experience God there (or struggle to)?
  4. We often live like certain spaces are more “spiritual” than others. Where do you naturally feel more aware of God, and where do you tend to leave Him out?

Take It Home

What are we doing this week?

  1. This week, pay attention to your daily rhythm (driving, working, being at home). Where can you become more aware that God is already there with you?
  2. Practice a simple pause once a day: Stop and say, “God, You’re here, and You’ve got me.” When and where will you do that?
